Position: UI / UX Designer

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Preferred: Arlington, VA, Washington, DC)

Role Overview

Q2IMPACT is seeking a UI / UX Designer to create intuitive, user-centered experiences for enterprise and AI-driven platforms serving public sector clients. This role involves designing human-centered solutions that simplify complex systems, ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

The ideal candidate will combine design thinking, visual creativity, and a deep understanding of accessibility and compliance standards. They will collaborate closely with product managers, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and user-focused.

Responsibilities

  • User-Centered Design (30%)
    • Lead the design of end-to-end user experiences for web and mobile applications.
    • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs aligned with Q2IMPACT branding and standards.
    • Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to validate design decisions.
    • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
  • Collaboration & Strategy (20%)
    • Partner with product managers and engineers to align design with business and technical requirements.
    • Translate complex workflows into intuitive, engaging user interfaces.
    • Advocate for user-centered design principles across teams.
  • Design Systems & Execution (30%)
    • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and reusable component libraries.
    • Deliver assets and collaborate with developers to ensure design fidelity.
    • Iterate designs based on analytics, feedback, and evolving needs.
  • Innovation & Impact (20%)
    • Stay current with industry trends, prototyping techniques, and interactive technologies.
    • Experiment with data visualization, dashboards, and AI-driven UX patterns.
    • Contribute to a culture of innovation by exploring human-centered design in global development contexts.

Minimum Education, Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional UI / UX design experience in SaaS, enterprise, or government environments.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and usability standards.
  • Familiarity with component-driven UI frameworks and design systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regulated industries (public sector, healthcare, finance).
  • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Background in data visualization, dashboards, or AI / ML interfaces.
  • Understanding of ethical, secure, and compliant technology practices.
