Overview

Technical Writer at PACE Advanced Water Engineering. The role focuses on writing new documents and editing/formatting existing documents to support engineering and marketing teams with technical memorandums, reports, proposal materials, project descriptions, marketing copy, internal communications, and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement company standards regarding structure, clarity, consistency, style and terminology on all written documentation. Organize and complete all materials according to those standards.
  • Interface with all departments and review submitted materials, revise formatting and edit accordingly to ensure professional quality and alignment with company standards.
  • Perform technical writing as needed and provide advanced technical editing and formatting.
  • Interpret scientific documentation so the average reader can understand the content.
  • Write business letters and copy for reports and marketing materials such as brochures, articles, social media and proposals, as directed.
  • Serve as a general resource for the communication needs of the company, offering writing assistance.
  • Edit and prepare presentations.
  • Create and incorporate graphics into documents using Excel and other programs.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in English, Communications, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical/proposal writing for an engineering organization.
  • Strong technical knowledge in the given field with a solid grasp of engineering terminology.
  • Ability to write in a simple, concise and accurate manner.
  • Good research and documentation skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to explain complex scientific/technical ideas in accessible language.
  • Excellent technical and business writing skills; meticulous attention to grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Publisher.

Physical Demands

Regularly sit, use hands, and communicate; occasionally stand, walk, and reach. May lift up to 30 pounds. Requires good vision; color vision is helpful. Occasional field work may involve uneven terrain and walking moderate to long distances.

Work Environment

Moderate noise level in the office. May require work in external environments and travel to offsite project meetings. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.

Salary

$70,000-$100,000 (annual, depending on experience and role).
