Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team focuses on delivering an industry-leading customer experience for electric vehicle buyers and owners. You’ll join an agile team of designers, researchers, and product managers focused on delivering excellence daily.

This position is onsite four days per week in Dearborn, Michigan. A portfolio submission in addition to a resume is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply Atomic Design Principles to design system guidelines & patterns.
• Design, document, and maintain components, patterns, and interactions within the design system.
• Collaborate with product designers to identify common UI/UX needs and contribute reusable solutions.
• Contribute to governance processes to ensure consistency and high standards across the design system and products.
• Advocate for usability, accessibility (WCAG), and interaction design best practices.
• Create usage guidelines, documentation, and training materials to drive design system adoption.
• Conduct user research and usability testing focused on system components, patterns, and workflows.
• Stay current with UX trends and identify opportunities to improve the design system.
• Partner with engineers to ensure accurate and accessible implementation of design components.
• Socialize the design system across internal organizations and create cohesive UX/visual guidelines for in-vehicle and mobile products.
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Software Engineers, and Product Managers; contribute to an inclusive and accessible product ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in UI/UX; 2+ years establishing design systems.
• Experience designing for multiple platforms (Web, iOS, Android, etc.).
• Ability to create and maintain system documentation and governance artifacts.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for design consistency, scalability, and accessibility.
• Proficiency with current design tools (Figma) and prototyping tools (Protopie).
• Strong presentation and documentation skills; ability to articulate design rationale to stakeholders.
• Track record of leading projects to successful outcomes for users and business.
• Portfolio submission required for consideration.
