WCNC Charlotte — Producer

WCNC Charlotte is seeking a dynamic and visionary producer to lead our Charlotte Today lifestyle program into its next era of success. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of one of Charlotte\'s local entertainment shows. The producer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Charlotte Today, including content development and production. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas to evolve the show while maintaining its core focus on local stories and paid content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance the show\'s content and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with the entire Charlotte Today Team to create compelling segments that resonate with viewers.
  • Oversee daily Charlotte Today calendar and resource allocation to maximize production value.
  • Analyze linear and streaming data to continually refine and improve the program.
  • Organize and execute sponsored segments.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in television production, preferably for a magazine-style or news program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience.
  • Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative vision for evolving "Charlotte Today" content and workflows.
  • Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news, and changing events.
  • Strong organization, planning skills, and the ability to work under constant time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Familiarity with multi-platform content distribution strategies.
  • Knowledge of current trends in local television and digital media.
  • Eagerness to gain in-depth knowledge of the Charlotte market and its diverse communities.
  • Ability to schedule ahead and plan shows 2-weeks out.
  • Knowledge of AP ENPS, Edius, photojournalism, video editing, and content management systems.
