The Marketing Manager for Constituent Experiences Strategy will be responsible for interpreting and executing fundraising strategies for Ohio State's many constituents, including alumni, grateful patients, grateful clients, students, employees, parents, and community members. Using marketing data- and industry trend-informed decision making, this position will work as part of a team who develops and executes marketing and marketing strategy focusing on philanthropic initiatives to activate a pipeline of loyal donors. The Marketing Associate will work closely to develop and manage digital philanthropic experiences for The Ohio State University's Alumni Association's Constituent Experiences team. This role will leverage an integrated approach to implement and manage strategies that drive alumni philanthropy through digital fundraising. This position will partner with the Constituent Experiences team to ensure successful production of various philanthropic marketing and marketing strategy initiatives that result in multifaceted fundraising campaigns, and philanthropic opportunities. The Marketing Associate will identify and evaluate emerging digital platforms, and applications that align with goals. Provide strategic recommendations on tools to enhance campaign performance and constituent engagement. This position will also collaborate with Advancement Marketing and Communications, Advancement Events and Operations, and Business Intelligence and Data Services to develop and deploy comprehensive engagement and giving strategies to achieve unit and university goals and ensure strategic alignment across the organization. The position is designed to play a specialist role in strategic planning for digital-first annual giving campaigns and develop engaging digital campaigns using strategies like gamification, crowdsourced content creation, and micro-donations. The Marketing Associate reports to the Associate Director of Constituent Experiences Strategy and is responsible for making recommendations and independent decisions, using strong decision-making capabilities, judgment, strategic thought, consistency, discretion, and financial management in accomplishing objectives. The position will be responsible for maintaining project budgets, meeting revenue goals, and managing expenditures. This position must be adaptable to shifting priorities and demands in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. This position may include traveling as an international and domestic tours host for up to 14 days a year, as well as the occasional work week travel. Additional evening and weekend work may be needed beyond tour hosting. This position offers a flexible schedule including remote work as agreed upon with the leader(s) the role supports. 45%: Work closely to develop and manage the creation and execution of digital-first fundraising initiatives including crowdfunding, ambassadors, and annual giving campaigns (Day of Giving, Giving Tuesday, etc.). Execute engaging strategies for constituent engagement, including gamification, crowdsourced content creation, and micro-donations. Interpret and implement use of integrated methods to support large-scale university-wide fundraising initiatives with heavy emphasis on digital fundraising. Implement desired outcomes and facilitate the direction of each integrated method toward said outcomes. Continuously analyze campaign data to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Contribute to resources and templates for college and unit partners to acquire new donors and engaged constituents. Leverage data analytics to personalize communications and tailor content to specific donor segments. Maintain project budgets. Debriefs on each project via ROI and ROR analysis. Supports and implements early engagement and giving strategies in partnership with key stakeholders. Provide real-time updates on how donations are being used to promote transparency and encourage continued support. Advocate for the development of stewardship plans and retention strategies aligned with alumni giving patterns.

45%: Work closely with Advancement Marketing & Communications, Development, and Alumni Relations teams to create a seamless, cross-departmental experience for constituents. Partner with appropriate Advancement units to understand audience demographics, engagement, and giving readiness. Provide support to other university colleges/units and the Wexner Medical Center with the implementation of their digital fundraising strategies and campaigns. Maintain exceptional customer service skills. Apply critical thinking skills and independently solve complex problems. Encourage A/B testing to refine campaign elements (subject lines, content, calls-to-action) and optimize performance. Serve as a subject matter specialist, applying industry knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles and methods in marketing and marketing strategy focusing on fundraising, in collaborating with partners on the Constituent Experiences team. Employ data analytics to assist with the personalization of communications based on alumni interests, giving history, and engagement level. Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and adjust engagement strategies as needed. Provide strategic and tactical support to the Alumni Association Constituent Experiences Strategy team.

10%: Contributes to advancement by fostering and exhibiting teamwork. Participates on internal committees/workgroups as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Two (2) years of fundraising and/or related program management experience. Fundraising and/or related program management experience. Must be able to obtain a passport and travel internationally as a tour host. Desired Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent experience. Four (4) years of fundraising and/or related program management experience. Experience building and implementing donor and engagement acquisition strategies. Experience with career management Experience with constituent travel programs. Experience working with annual giving campaigns. Experience working in healthcare philanthropy with an understanding of grateful patient fundraising. Experience with a CRM such as a Blackbaud database. Proficiency in Excel and project management. Experience working in higher education. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with web site maintenance.
