Graphic Designer

to support our client with a wide range of design projects for both internal and public-facing communications. This position will be

part-time contract

and

remote

. What You’ll Do Develop creative and visually compelling designs for print and digital media across a wide range of public health topics

Create original concepts and final designs for materials such as brochures, reports, flyers, newsletters, banners, billboards, and advertisements

Ensure all designs align with IDOH branding and messaging standards

Prepare files for professional printing and digital distribution using Adobe Creative Suite

Collaborate with OPA leadership to prioritize projects, manage timelines, and meet deadlines

Recommend cost-effective design solutions and production alternatives

What You'll Need Required: Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of work

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and Microsoft Office

Experience working on a Mac operating system

Strong understanding of branding, layout, typography, and visual storytelling

Ability to interpret complex public health information and translate it into accessible, engaging visuals

Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and consistency

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred: Experience with public sector or health-related communications

Familiarity with digital photography and image editing

Understanding of pre-press and print production processes

Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

The pay range for this position is $50.00 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access.
