Overview
Senior Vice President, Earned Media Strategy Role within the Brand team in New York. Opportunity to lead campaigns for globally known brands and manage a large, cross-office earned media team.
The leader will provide subject matter expertise in media relations, nurture client relationships, and act as the day-to-day senior media counsel for client programs and brand teams. This role works in lockstep with integrated agency partners and oversees a high-performing media team with exposure to agency senior leaders. We seek a storyteller inspired by culture, with curiosity, a drive to improve, and the ability to motivate across disciplines.

Responsibilities
- Build and nurture client relationships and grow business by providing leadership, direction and strategic guidance to colleagues, day-to-day teams and senior level clients
- Serve as a subject matter expert in media relations and coach/develop a high-performing media team of 10+ people
- Deliver and nurture strong existing relationships with reporters across media categories
- Understand the media landscape and what it takes for a brand to breakthrough
- Craft narratives to place clients at the forefront of culture
- Solve problems, handle crises, and make quick decisions with incomplete information
- Ideate and shape brand campaigns that tap into culture, lifestyle and influencer trends
- Leverage agency resources locally, regionally, globally to deliver the best for every project
- Establish high standards for quality and deliver above expectations, fulfilling the trusted partner role with clients
- Craft presentations for senior client stakeholders with a persuasive and engaging style
- Engage in agency culture and lead by example
- Collaborate with peers to advance the agency mission, goals and culture
- Balance an intense work ethic with a collaborative culture
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in media relations, including agency experience on integrated campaigns
- Deep knowledge of consumer products, storytelling for lifestyle brands
- Strong selling and negotiating skills with the ability to bring new ideas to clients
- Proven track record of identifying and delivering strategic storytelling opportunities
- Expertise in social, digital and influencer channels to enhance earned media
- Exceptional client service and ability to counsel with senior management
- Experience managing a large earned media team and coordinating cross-city/country teams
- Strategic and hands-on ability to adapt to client needs
- Leadership in developing talent and mentoring teams
- Entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership, collaborative attitude
- Willingness to challenge status quo and continuously improve
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- BA or BS in Communications or related degree

Salary: NYC range $160,000 $225,000. The final offer depends on factors including market, tenure, and qualifications.
