Overview
GZERO Media, a subsidiary of Eurasia Group, is a company dedicated to providing the public with intelligent and engaging coverage of global affairs. It was created in 2017 as a subsidiary of Eurasia Group, the worlds leading political risk analysis firm. Our content is offered across digital media, broadcast television, and social channels. We are committed to reporting and analysis free of political bias and focused on providing the public clear and concise explanations of the trends and political players shaping our world.
This role is based in our New York City global headquarters and reports directly to the Global Chief Content Officer. The Deputy Head of Content will be responsible for writing, editing, and creating content as well as overseeing the work of reporters and creators, including daily content offerings such as newsletters, digital video series, a US public television show, podcasts, and branded content.
Responsibilities
- Variously curating, editing, and creating content, which may be published on our website, for daily newsletters, on social channels, and as short-form videos
- Managing a small team of content creators, investing in their career growth and long-term professional success
- Working as a player-coach, performing routine operational work as needed, such as building and deploying newsletters
- Providing thought partnerships for graphics and data-driven content, including our Graphic Truth series
- Producing podcasts and branded content projects when required
- Working directly with the Chief Content Officer to improve and innovate our content strategy and execution
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in an active digital newsroom, preferably covering global affairs, politics, and/or foreign policy
- Experience managing a team of at least 5 creators, including establishing efficient workflows and mentoring reporters and creators
- Ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and succinctly across multiple formats
- Familiarity with both video and text reporting and production. Newsletter experience is a plus
- Impeccable attention to details and facts
- Strong understanding of how to tailor and publish content for specific channelsTikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
- Deep curiosity about the world and an insatiable appetite for news and global affairs content
Compensation
The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,000 to $130,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
