Overview

National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join their Santa Monica office. In this role, you will collaborate with and be an integral part of the architectural and interior design team, supporting the development of the Interior Design efforts; performing all technical aspects of the interior design process from project kickoff through to construction administration; and assisting and participating in data gathering, planning and documentation.

The firm has 12 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling design presentation materials, graphics, and renderings to effectively communicate project concepts.
  • Collaborate on visioning sessions, design development, programming, and space planning to assess and address client and project needs.
  • Participate in data gathering, visioning, and implementation for diverse interior projects.
  • Create detailed space plans and innovative layout solutions.
  • Research materials, finishes, and design concepts to inform and elevate interior design direction.
  • Transform concepts into comprehensive construction drawings and coordinate with the team to produce thorough construction documentation and material specifications.
  • Select and specify furniture, guiding collaboration and communication with vendor partners.
  • Support construction administration by responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
  • Present to the team on finishes, materials, furniture selections, and layouts, ensuring proposals support project aesthetics, budgets, functionality, and code compliance.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, proactively prioritizing work in a dynamic, fast-paced studio environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Interior Design or Interior Architecture program.
  • 3-4 years of relevant interior design experience.
  • On the path toward, or holding, professional licensure and/or certification.
  • Strong foundation in interior design principles, materials, FF&E, and construction detailing.
  • Well-versed in city, state, and federal building codes.
  • Proficient in Revit (required), with strong 2D and 3D graphic abilities.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and strong problem-solving abilities.
