About the Role

We are searching for the best talent to join our team as a Senior Manager, Global Oncology Communications, Solid Tumors & Agile. This is a hybrid in-person role with a preferred location of Raritan, NJ or Spring House, PA, with flexibility to work from other campuses in NJ or PA. Reporting to the Director, Oncology Communications, you will partner with Global Oncology R&D and Global Commercial teams to plan and implement external communication and activation strategies for the rapidly growing solid tumor portfolio, with emphasis on head and neck (HNSCC), colorectal (CRC) and lung cancers. This role will also support pipeline communications for Interventional Oncology (INTO), a group dedicated to bringing together Innovative Medicine and MedTech expertise to improve patient outcomes in lung and adjacent cancers. This position requires a problem solver who can lead efforts to strengthen our reputation as a global health innovator in oncology, working with cross-functional partners, including senior leaders in R&D, Global Commercial Strategy, Supply Chain, Investor Relations, Business Development, and Global Reputation and Engagement organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Support global communications, public affairs and market shaping initiatives for the solid tumor portfolio, articulating a clear strategy and messaging in support of business priorities today and for future launches in HNSCC, CRC and INTO. Distill scientific data and strategies into compelling messages for press releases, key messages, social media content, and planning across earned, owned, and paid channels.
  • Advance opportunistic media and business development communications for the solid tumor portfolio and pipeline, partnering with cross-functional teams to communicate its value.
  • Serve as a counselor to leaders across R&D, Global Commercial Strategy, Supply Chain, and Finance to connect business objectives with communications outcomes.
  • Proactively secure results across earned and paid media and social channels; partner to manage issues as needed.
  • Lead proactive global monitoring and analysis of product and therapeutic area issues that may impact trust and company reputation.
Executive Thought Leadership and Internal Communications
  • Support thought leadership for oncology leaders to build reputation in solid tumors and communicate vision to eliminate cancer.
  • Drive outcomes and employee engagement through internal communication of lung cancer data, regulatory milestones and disease awareness initiatives, always leading with a One Team mentality.
Reputation and Partnerships
  • Champion J&J reputation as the global innovator passionate about eliminating cancer, supporting above-brand content strategies to differentiate in HNSCC, CRC and lung cancer.
  • Collaborate with regional and enterprise partners to forge new opportunities and support local strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience leading communications in a large company, NGO, government or public relations agency; proven track record of success
  • Outstanding written, oral and visual communications with a focus on Smart Brevity
  • Strong collaboration and transparent communication
  • Demonstrated ability to build deep relationships with top executives and scientists and influence with senior internal and external partners
  • Global mentality with experience working in global or regional functions and implementing international projects
  • Excellent attention to detail, writing and communication skills
  • Reliable and efficient project execution, strong organizational and analytical skills, and a sense of urgency

  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel required
Compensation

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $120,000 to $207,000 USD.
