Overview
The Senior Manager, Science and Technology Communications role at Cytiva supports the Group CTO function with the development and execution of strategic, multi-channel content that aligns with organizational priorities and engages diverse audiences. Using data-driven insights, the role ensures consistent, impactful messaging that connects associates to our mission and values across Science and Technology functions. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Internal Communications, this role collaborates with the VP Internal Innovation & Partnership and Senior Director, Emerging Technologies & Business Integration Leaders. Primary duties include promoting internal and external innovation activities, including emerging scientific opportunities, and driving communication that supports leadership, enhances innovation culture, and amplifies Cytivas brand story globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute best practices to develop a communication strategy and apply analytics with feedback tools to assess campaign impact and engagement
- Promote Cytiva as a technology leader by amplifying innovation stories, recognizing scientific contributions, and aligning messaging with industry events and collaborations (e.g., NIIMBL, MIT)
- Create and manage audience-specific content across digital and physical channels (intranet, email, video, web, social media, central innovation channel) to support CTO communications and organizational priorities
- Design and execute engagement campaigns, support leadership communications (Town Halls, Communities of Practice, R&D Conferences, Innovation Accelerator), and collaborate with Talent Management and business leaders to strengthen associate engagement through connection and culture
- Partner with Communications, Brand, Marketing, and enabling functions to collaborate and align messaging, develop toolkits, and support consistent storytelling across global teams
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations. Scientific or technical field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline); advanced degree or additional training is a plus.
- 58 years of experience in strategic communications, internal communications, or employee engagementideally within global life sciences, healthcare, or a research-driven organization.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across various formats and channels.
- Proficiency with internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams) and basic design or video tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience managing and collaborating with external agencies, vendors, and partners; overseeing intranet and social media content; and aligning messaging with the companys Employee Value Proposition.
Preferred additional experience
- Masters or PhD desired in scientific field
- Understanding of Legal Frameworks, Compliance, Licensing
- Experience working in a large matrixed organization or regulated industry
- Familiarity with change management communication best practices
- Comfort working with senior executives and translating business strategies into actionable communication and engagement plans
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $130,000-$150,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
