Marketing and Public Relations Manager

who will be all-in on our mission and who is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and fundraising success of the Amarillo College Foundation. This position ensures consistent messaging and branding across all platforms and fosters strong relationships with donors, alumni, community partners, and media outlets. Qualifications

EDUCATION: Required:

Bachelor's degree.

Preferred:

Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE: Required:

Two (2) or more years of experience in graphic design, marketing or public relations.

Preferred:

Three (3) years or more of experience in graphic design, marketing or public relations. Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual marketing and communications plan to support fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and community awareness. Collaborate with Amarillo College's College Relations team to ensure Foundation marketing efforts align with institutional priorities and brand strategy. Coordinate placement of all advertising for the Foundation and Institutional Advancement, ensuring cost-effectiveness and target audience reach. Oversee the creation of promotional campaigns for fundraising events, donor initiatives, and community engagement opportunities. Manage the design, production, and distribution of all print and digital marketing materials, including brochures, reports, newsletters, event collateral, and merchandise. Direct content development for the Foundation's website, social media channels, and donor communications to ensure timely, engaging, and accurate messaging. Partner with College Relations graphic designers and other creative staff to develop visually compelling and brand-compliant materials. Ensure all messaging, advertising, and promotional materials adhere to Amarillo College branding guidelines. Maintain consistency in tone, visual identity, and storytelling across platforms and initiatives. Cultivate relationships with local and regional media outlets to promote Foundation initiatives, programs, and success stories. Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and event announcements to maximize visibility. Serve as a spokesperson for the Foundation when appropriate. Coordinate photography for Foundation board members, events, and donor recognition activities. Manage promotional materials, media coverage, and marketing support for special events. Develop, edit, and publish the Foundation's biannual newsletter, highlighting impact stories, donor recognition, and institutional achievements. Contribute to the Foundation's annual report and other donor stewardship publications. Work closely with the Advancement team, Foundation Board, and College Relations to support fundraising campaigns, donor engagement strategies, and community outreach. Provide guidance to staff and board members on marketing and public relations best practices. Perform other related duties as required. Comprehensive knowledge of marketing, communications, and public relations principles, including digital, print, and social media strategies. Understanding of non-profit fundraising and donor stewardship practices. Knowledge of branding, graphic design principles, and creative content development. Familiarity with media relations, press outreach, and community engagement strategies. Knowledge of project management, budget oversight, and vendor coordination. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories and clear messaging for diverse audiences. Proficiency in digital platforms including social media management tools, website content management systems, and email marketing software. Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or similar design applications. Demonstrated ability to analyze marketing data and metrics to assess effectiveness and adjust strategies. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to think strategically and translate ideas into actionable marketing plans. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, board members, donors, and community stakeholders. Ability to maintain brand consistency and represent the College and Foundation in a professional, positive manner. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, emerging trends, and evolving technologies. Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate sound judgment in all communications.

Salary:

Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

Pay grade 13 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and required to lift, carry, push and pull items including office supplies, tables and chairs as needed.

Working Conditions:

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, Google Doc, Xcel and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
