Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in mass communication, marketing, digital media or related field.
  • Experience creating and executing marketing strategies, content creation, and digital engagement in various mediums including websites, emails, social, text, direct mail, print, and advertisements.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills across multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Experience managing and coordinating special events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Communication, Strategic Media, PR/Advertising, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading photography/social/video/online projects while collaborating with others in a creative environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience as a videographer, photographer, graphic designer, webmaster and/or social media content creator.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Description

The Digital Media Specialist schedules, coordinates and provides digital media services including, but not limited to video, audio, photography, web content and social media assets. Coordinates events, meetings and promotions to meet school/department, college, division, and university needs.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be a skilled storyteller and outreach specialist with an entrepreneurial spirit. A self-starter, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for marketing, social media, communication and outreach, and digital asset management for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In addition, the Digital Media Specialist will coordinate and manage events (Bobcat Days, award events, advisory board meetings). This role supervises students supporting online social media engagement, special events and media projects.
