About the Role
We’re seeking a Culture Calendar Editor to own Dorsia’s global culture calendar—the intelligence layer powering discovery and bookings in our app. The role combines editorial judgment with large-scale listings management: you’ll curate what matters, ensure quality across a catalog of 225,000+ events, and run efficient workflows where AI generates first-draft listings and you enforce accuracy, taste, and voice. You’ll bridge Dorsia’s insider, aspirational tone with the authority of our media brand, Surface magazine, serving a top-of-pyramid audience of high-net-worth (HNW) travelers and tastemakers.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end event listings pipeline across hundreds of thousands of entries: intake, prioritization, deduplication, canonicalization, QA, and publishing cadence.
- Design and maintain taxonomy, tagging, and metadata standards to power search, recommendations, and booking flows.
- Use AI to draft listings at scale; develop prompts, style guides, and QA processes to enforce accuracy, tone, and brand guidelines.
- Set and report on SLA metrics (freshness/recency, error rate, time-to-publish, coverage breadth of flagship and niche events).
- Partner with Product/UX to evolve schemas and CMS fields (Contentful/WordPress) that improve discoverability and conversion.
- Curate, edit, and program the Culture Calendar with a distinctive point of view aligned to brand and business goals.
- Identify thematic storylines—seasonal highlights, cultural arcs, and travel-adjacent moments—that resonate with our HNW audience.
- Bridge Dorsia’s in-app voice with Surface’s editorial style for seamless cross-platform storytelling.
- Launch and lead a weekly culture newsletter, expanding Dorsia’s editorial suite alongside The Weekend Edit and Surface’s Design Dispatch.
Trend & Event Curation
- Aggregate, verify, and prioritize major cultural events via insider networks, PR contacts, and original research.
- Interview influential cultural figures to add authority and first-hand insight to calendar coverage and related features.
- Deliver coverage that blends practical utility with cultural commentary—built to inspire travel and drive bookings.
- Attend key events (fashion weeks, biennales, design fairs, festivals) for on-the-ground perspective, source development, and coverage.
Contributor & Stakeholder Management
- Commission short- and long-form event write-ups from a network of globally connected writers and editors.
- Collaborate with PR and brand partners for official assets, early access, and exclusive angles.
- Work closely with Dorsia’s events team and Surface editors to source recommendations and insider perspectives.
Cross-Platform Content & Distribution
- Adapt calendar content for in-app features, email, push notifications, Surface online, and social.
- Partner with product, UX, and marketing to ensure coverage enhances discoverability, navigation, and booking flow.
- Utilize AI tools for summarization, metadata tagging, and low-lift content generation.
Technical & Workflow Expertise
- Manage workflows in Figma, Notion, Contentful, and WordPress; apply SEO best practices and structured metadata.
- Partner with data/analytics on dashboards for coverage, freshness, and conversion; comfort with light data QA is a plus.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years in editorial, cultural programming, or event/listings curation within a luxury, lifestyle, or culture-driven brand/publication.
- Experience managing large content catalogs or calendars with strong taxonomy/metadata skills.
- Proven editorial voice and impeccable taste; ability to translate high-culture insights into accessible, compelling content.
- Strong network of writers, editors, PR professionals, and cultural influencers.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive; skilled at balancing creative, product, and commercial priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Based in New York City (preferred) or Miami; able to travel for key events.
What Success Looks Like
- A Culture Calendar that drives engagement, bookings, and brand authority.
- High-quality, trend-forward coverage that becomes indispensable to members.
- Excellent coverage breadth/accuracy and freshness SLAs across 225,000+ listings.
- Increased cross-platform visibility for Dorsia and Surface, with tight collaboration across editorial, product, marketing, and partnerships.

Our Core Values
Lead with hospitality. We respect the craft and precision that are intrinsic to the hospitality industry. We are a team diverse in background and thought, built to be the connective tissue between artists, chefs, diners, and members.
Mise en place. We are persistent in preparation, prioritization, and focus to anticipate our customers’ needs to create a powerful platform rooted in simplicity and elegance. And we know that details matter, which is why superior design is crucial to our brand ethos. Thoughtful design is baked into everything we do—our product, brand, creative, culture, and beyond.
Go around the table—then commit. We know creativity takes feedback and iteration, and differing opinions can lead to healthy debate. While we encourage all voices to speak up and be heard, we are geared toward action and unify around the decision once it\'s made. Sometimes an individual idea or project may not be what’s best for the company, so don’t be afraid to kill your darlings.
Our product is our signature dish. We are a product and marketing-led organization. Protecting our brand and vision needs to be top-of-mind with every move we make.
Optimize turn times. We are creating beautifully-designed, tech-forward solutions to automate all sides of our business: for members, restaurants, and employees. And we’re laying a data-rich foundation to enable all stakeholders to make better decisions and enjoy the finer things in life.
Savor it. We eat slowly and celebrate the wins we share with those around the table. We’re in this for the long-haul, so enjoy the ride.
Stay hungry. We can change the world or someone else will. We believe in a sense of urgency to keep pushing toward our goals. And there’s always room for dessert, because there’s always more to do.
