Your Day as a Senior Technical Writer/Editor

As a Senior Technical Writer/Editor at MRI Technologies, your day might begin by diving into complex technical data, researching and organizing information that will form the backbone of critical flight and maintenance documentation. From there, you\'ll collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and flight crews—validating procedures, asking questions, and ensuring every detail is accurate and mission-ready.

You'll spend time editing and formatting a variety of deliverables, from user manuals and system specifications to checklists and reports, always with an eye for clarity, consistency, and compliance with NASA and industry standards. On some days, that means interviewing engineers about aircraft modifications; on others, it means managing updates and revisions to ensure technical manuals reflect the latest requirements.

Quality is central to your work—you\'ll help lead reviews that safeguard accuracy and uphold the highest standards. And as you grow in the role, you\'ll take on greater responsibility, building the leadership skills to guide both projects and people in support of NASA\'s groundbreaking missions.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and document production skills.
  • A demonstrated familiarity with aerospace or engineering documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
  • The willingness to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve anomalies with documentation structure and content (independently or collaboratively).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to manage time and effort across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Proficiency with desktop publishing software such as Adobe products and Microsoft Office suite

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of proven technical writing/editing experience preferred.
  • Prior NASA or aerospace industry experience strongly preferred.

Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship per federal government contractual requirements.
