Overview

Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA, a leader among the nation’s independent two-year colleges, has openings for Adjunct Instructors for our Fashion Design and Merchandising program at its Bryn Mawr campus. We are seeking an instructor to teach or co-teach Fashion Illustration. The class will run on Monday and Wednesday 10am-11:20am. We are also seeking candidates for Fashion Design and Patternmaking classes.

Responsibilities

• Teach or co-teach Fashion Illustration (Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00–11:20am).
• Teach or co-teach Fashion Design and Patternmaking classes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Fashion Illustration and Design Drawing
  • Collection Design and Fashion Show Production
  • Flat Pattern and Draping Techniques
  • Patternmaking or Apparel Construction
• Professional experience of 3–5 years; academic experience is a definite plus.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Teaching experience preferred, particularly experience in teaching diverse learners.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation

Harcum College offers a basic benefits package to adjunct instructors including retirement programs. The pay will be commensurate with experience.
