Overview

As the Social Media Manager for ABB Motion, you will be responsible for strategic leadership, planning and execution of end-to-end social media initiatives ensuring impact, consistency and alignment with business goals. You will strengthen the online presence and position of ABB Motion, elevate the business area’s executive profiles on applicable social media channels, and design, execute and optimize social media content and campaigns in collaboration with stakeholders, leveraging both paid and organic opportunities. You will produce clutter-breaking and compelling stories to help ABB stand out in social media feeds.

This role is open globally, but preferred location is set in the US and Great Britain. The work model is hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content development: Develop, oversee and implement social media content programs for ABB Motion’s business area, including elevating executive profiles, ensuring alignment with ABB positioning and social media guidelines.
  • Produce, manage, optimize and curate content (including reels, stories, shorts, live streams, etc.) on ABB Motion’s social media channels (LinkedIn, X, YouTube).
  • Collaborate with, train and coach content creators, influencers and advocates to design, execute and manage social media campaigns that drive engagement and growth.
  • Develop a framework for the business area and establish best practices on impactful social media content creation and distribution; provide expert guidance and support to colleagues in Divisions; conduct training sessions.
  • Keep up to date with latest trends and proactively integrate them into content programs; drive innovation as part of a multi-channel approach.
  • Channel acquisition & management, budget accountability: Continuously assess potential of additional platforms; manage new channels to enhance presence and influence.
  • Contract management for applicable social media technology and tools; oversee regional social media platforms and ensure alignment with group and business area strategy.
  • Govern, align and enable divisions to utilize platforms for maximum impact; collaborate with line manager on social media budget and ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
  • KPIs: Regularly analyze performance metrics and adjust tactics to improve results; provide analytics and insights to track performance against best-in-class benchmarks; implement SEO tactics across social channels to enhance visibility and search rankings.
  • Manage & schedule organic and paid campaigns and updates on relevant Motion Webpages: Use tools to schedule posts across platforms; deploy paid and organic tactics; manage supplier relationships and budgets; stay current with platform trends and best practices; maintain scheduling calendar for the full Business Area (6 Divisions); drive relevant webpage updates; collaborate with internal and external content creators and influencers; lead strategy on advocacy platforms to amplify ABB Motion’s presence responsibly; coordinate quarterly communities of practice meetings with social media and digital communications managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, social media, or related field.
  • 5+ years in a large corporation providing social media plans within set budgets, with hands-on content creation, tool management, training and performance analysis.
  • Sharp, engaging writing for different platforms; native English proficiency; experienced with LinkedIn, X, YouTube; adept at using relevant tools and technologies for social media campaigns.
  • Comfortable on camera; experienced in producing video content for social media; ability to translate trends into B2B content.
  • Strong understanding of platform algorithms and trends; ability to integrate paid and organic content to drive results; analytical skills to translate metrics into insights.
  • Experience with GEO & SEO integration into social media strategy to improve visibility and reach.
  • Organized, accountable, and able to work with a global and diverse team; strong communication and collaboration skills.

For the US market, base salary is expected to be between $116,000 and $215,000 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
