Salary Range $96,000 - $125,000*

What You Will Do

  • Support creation of media strategies for various initiatives for Saks Global, including capsule collections, seasonal campaigns, special events, celebrity partnerships, digital initiatives and more
  • Create press releases, media alerts, executive bios, executive quotes, pitches and more; pitch and secure media as needed to reach PR goals; and oversee media lists and invite lists in planning phases
  • Oversee PR planning and secure press results for special events (some evenings and weekends as required by event schedule) and support senior executives at high-profile events
  • Ideate and forecast strategic celebrity talent opportunities and support contracting celebrity talent for select opportunities
  • Leverage long-standing relationships with key members of the media, both traditional and new media channels—women’s fashion, men’s fashion, retail, lifestyle, beauty, entertainment and more—to identify and secure opportunities, craft cultural, industry and trend insights and create compelling media storytelling angles for Saks Global
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners on brand partnerships, social media, events, creative campaigns and more
  • Oversee press and celebrity budgets and make informed monthly and quarterly recommendations based on forecasted initiatives
  • Manage team media monitoring and reporting for key brand launches and Saks Global initiatives
  • Analyze press results and monitor media patterns to inform strategy and planning for future press and celebrity initiatives
  • Manage internal reports and newsletter updates to effectively communicate the PR team’s outreach and results

What You Will Bring

  • Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
  • Experience pitching top-tier press and securing positive coverage, with a proven track record of solely garnering high-impact media placements
  • Experience staffing a press interview, media event and other live forums with a brand spokesperson
  • Strong PR team leader with positive “can-do” attitude and the ability to roll up their sleeves to get the task done

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using PR monitoring and reporting tools, such as Cision or Muck Rack
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field of study
  • Ability to think strategically and be results driven, with willingness to take ownership of all assigned responsibilities
  • Well connected across fashion, lifestyle, consumer and entertainment media outlets, including both traditional and new media channels
  • Minimum of five years in a PR role, agency or in-house
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with multiple teams, internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines, with minimal supervision
  • Must have impeccable written and verbal communications skills, as well as presentation skills (writing test will be required)
  • Flexibility in schedule (open to working evenings and weekends as required by event schedule)
  • Comfortable to work up to 4 days a week in our Brookfield Place (NYC) Offices
