Senior UI Engineer, Institutional Custody
Ava Labs is building high-performance Web3 solutions on Avalanche. We are seeking a Senior UI Engineer to join our pioneering team building the next generation of native cross-platform institutional digital asset management solutions. In this role, you will architect and develop a scalable, reusable cross-platform UI library that ensures a seamless user experience across mobile and web platforms. Additionally, you will implement the overall layouts for our native and web applications, translating complex requirements into visually appealing, intuitive, and secure interfaces.
Must be able to work US Eastern Time Zone hours.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Ship Innovative Features: Build cutting-edge web applications that address novel UI/UX challenges, driving the evolution of Web3 into the institutional finance space.
- Drive Product Advancements: Assess opportunities and recommend solutions tailored to client needs. Take initiative to push Ava Labs products to become a top tier competitor.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of emerging Web3 technologies and learn new engineering capabilities to tackle challenges with modern solutions.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Product Managers, Designers, and engineers across teams to deliver feature-rich experiences.
- Exhibit Extreme Ownership: Demonstrate initiative and responsibility for delivering high-quality, secure solutions while embracing challenges and driving product excellence.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT
- Frontend Expertise: Substantial frontend development experience with some familiarity with backend.
- Design Savy: Strong eye for design with the ability to implement components and responsive layouts, sometimes with limited high-fidelity designs.
- Customer Focus: User-centric approach to UI/UX, designing and launching high-quality products.
- Independence & Initiative: Ability to work autonomously with strong problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable: Able to handle rapidly changing requirements in a startup environment.
- Strong Communicator: Clear technical and high-level discussions; advocate for the best approach while remaining open to feedback.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Significant UI development experience, with some backend experience
- Expert TypeScript and strong React fundamentals
- Experience with Tailwind, Tanstack Form/Query/Table, and Zod
- Familiarity with Next.js (or similar React meta framework), and Drizzle (or similar ORM)
- Security-first mindset: collaborate with Security/Compliance; manage secrets; build auditability and observability into the product
NICE TO HAVES
- Full stack experience or familiarity with Node
- GitHub Actions experience
- React Native fundamentals, components, and Expo
- Experience with Web3/DeFi/Crypto industry
- Familiarity with custody/wallet UX (staking, enterprise approvals); infra exposure (Docker, CI/CD, basic Kubernetes)
Salary Range: $158,440.00 to $188,147.50
This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; final offer may vary based on experience and geographic location. NYC metro candidates are required to be in office 2-3x/week, with exceptions.
