(Milwaukee, WI) As Wisconsin's heritage news-talk station, NewsRadio WTMJ is looking for a full-time producer to run live, local, news and sports programming. The ideal candidate will have a passion for local and national news, politics, sports, and have previous experience behind the scenes producing for a news/talk format.

Role The primary role of a Full-Time Producer is to work with host(s) on content planning and execution, run the board for drive-time shows, support the content director on show production and log fulfillment, collaborate with other show producers on sharing news and audio, assist marketing/promotions on contesting and sponsorships, and help engineers ensure the station operates within FCC guidelines and is on the air.

Responsibilities

• Produce Wisconsin's Afternoon News on WTMJ: 3pm–6pm, Monday–Friday.
• Understand and stay informed about the daily news cycle.
• Work with on-air hosts to develop daily content plans and social media strategy.
• Sourcing potential contributors and interviewees.
• Manage social media for the show, including posts, stories, interviews, and podcasts.
• Convert text, graphics, video, and audio files for all digital platforms and create daily audio/video content.
• Utilize archived audio sources for content segments.
• Respond to audience feedback and coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Edit using software such as Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere for production tasks.
• Support the team as assigned and uphold Good Karma Brands core values: Listen, Be Honest, Follow Through, Work Hard, Teamwork, Over Deliver.

Qualifications

• Previous experience producing news/talk programming, newsroom experience, or experience in television news.
• Passion for local news and coverage of impactful stories.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to accept and provide feedback.

Hours, Salary & Benefits

Good Karma Brands offers a competitive base salary.
