We are seeking a motivated and experienced Property & Casualty Outside Sales Producer to join our team in the Des Moines Metro area. We're a multi-line independent insurance agency with a strong focus on personalized service and deep community roots. We're looking for a producer who can primarily focus on personal lines, with the flexibility to sell commercial policies as well.

Founded in 2000, we've grown from a single-company captive agency to a thriving independent agency that partners with over 20 insurance carriers. This allows us to provide clients with a wide range of options and find the best coverage at the most competitive rates. Our team of 11 employees prides itself on being a trusted, local, and community-focused agency with a strong reputation for attentiveness, responsiveness, and a family-style approach to service. We're currently working with a business coach to streamline our processes and enhance our efficiency, making this a great time to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Networking and Sales: Actively engage in networking and lead generation activities to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • New Business Development: Drive the entire sales process, from drumming up leads to quoting and closing new personal and commercial lines policies.
  • Community Involvement: Actively participate in networking groups like BNI to build a strong center of influence within the Des Moines community.
  • Focus on Sales: This role is designed to keep you on the street and focused on what you do best—selling. Our in-house support staff will handle all administrative and support work, freeing you from being bogged down with paperwork and service tasks.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • P&C License: Must hold a current Property & Casualty license. Health & Life licensing is not required.
  • Insurance Sales Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance field sales is required, with a preference for candidates who have prior independent agency sales experience.
  • Center of Influence: Must have an established network and "center of influence" within the local community.
  • Skillset: A proven ability to generate and close new business, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
