Art Director / Product Designer (Freelance)

Employment Type: Freelance, Part-time (20-30 hours per week/onsite in Anoka)

Our retail client is seeking a creative and highly organized Art Director / Product Designer to provide part-time product development support. This freelance role is designed to help alleviate workload bottlenecks, address pinch points, and fill temporary gaps within our creative team. Were looking for a unicorn: an exceptional Designer with strong Art Direction skills and a passion for translating ideas into compelling product concepts.

The Work

• Transform loose strategic vision and high-level creative direction into innovative, production-ready product design concepts.
• Create multiple design solutions and iterate based on feedback from stakeholders.
• Prepare final art boards and assets for manufacturing, ensuring all deliverables meet DecoPacs standards of quality and detail.
• Give and receive constructive feedback to refine concepts and drive projects forward.
  
  

The Skills

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with hands-on product design experience.
• Creative problem solver with the ability to generate multiple design concepts quickly.
• Strong attention to detail, including typography, layout, and light illustration work.
• Excellent organizational skillscapable of managing shifting priorities and working effectively in times of ambiguity.
• Demonstrated ability to give and receive feedback in a collaborative team environment.
• Resource management skills are a plus; ability to coordinate or lead freelance artists as needed.
• Clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional teams.
