As a Marketing Assistant, you will be serving an important and distinct role within PlanMember’s Marketing team. This position is designed to be an entry level role leading into the Marketing Coordinator role. You will be supporting the Marketing team and providing quality assurance and procedural support.

This is an ideal position for someone interested in growing their marketing knowledge AND has a passion for the financial industry. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced staff, take on new projects and learn a variety of systems.

PlanMember’s proprietary marketing solutions span multiple mediums and channels, supporting the needs of our independent financial advisor partners. The Marketing Assistant will help coordinate various tasks essential to supporting advisors with their marketing needs. Regular duties include tracking, routing and processing templated marketing material, coordinating the monthly winners circle communication, interacting with third party administrators, and providing support to the Marketing Coordinators.

This role reports directly to the AVP of Marketing, providing additional support to the FVP of Marketing, the marketing team, internal clients, and select advisors working in the field.

Location Information: On-Site at our Carpinteria, CA Headquarters

Salary Range: Starting salary is typically between $50,000 and $54,000 annually, however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity. In addition to the base salary, a generous benefits plan includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) company match, PTO plan, and much more.

Responsibilities

  • Track and route all customized business development marketing campaign material for individual advisors, FC advisors and strategic distribution groups
  • Track and coordinate all one-off material in coordination with the associated advisor/financial center
  • QA and make recommendations on campaign material
  • Process monthly Winners Circle for top performing advisors
  • Work with TPAs to direct clients to the appropriate advisor based on employer
  • Assist in coordinating and planning business development marketing campaigns
  • Post updates to NewsConnect, PlanMember’s internal system to notify advisors of department related updates and new material. Assist other departments in their efforts to post.
  • Administer and fulfill state educational and nonprofit associations conferences for FCs, including coordination of exhibition, speaking proposal submission, attendees pre and post physical/digital mailings and marketing materials
  • Maintain database of all PlanMember advisors
  • Assist Marketing Coordinators in creating marketing materials
  • Coordinate the PlanMember promo store, review/recommend new material and designs
  • Assist with various other activities as needed in support of PlanMember’s marketing team

Education

  • Qualification Standards:
  • B.A. or B.S preferred
  • Experience with marketing, communication and/or psychology emphasis a plus
  • Some prior experience in a business environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with DreamWeaver and Marketo: Preferred experience with these tools, showcasing additional skills in web development and marketing automation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Financial services and/or retirement planning experience preferred from outside or through Service Center
  • A strong interest in the financial industry

FINRA licenses are not required but encouraged for advancement.
