Job Summary The Director of Networking and Telecom will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and operation of the organization's network and telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires a strong leader with extensive technical expertise and a proven track record of managing complex networking environments. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of all network and telecom systems, supporting the overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive network and telecommunications strategy aligned with the company's long-term goals.

Oversee the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Manage and optimize the organization's telecommunications systems, including VoIP, unified communications, and contact center technologies.

Lead and mentor a team of network and telecom engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Ensure the security of network infrastructure through the implementation of robust security protocols, access controls, and regular vulnerability assessments.

Manage vendor relationships and contracts for network and telecom services and equipment.

Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for network and telecom systems, providing regular reports to senior management.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network and telecom services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational training.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in network and telecommunications management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs), network security principles, and telecommunications technologies.

Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE) are highly desirable.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
