Start Date: August 2025 - June 30, 2026 Position Type: Stipend
Hours: 3:00 - 5:00 PM (Tuesday & Thursday, Possible studio hours on Friday)
Position OverviewCodman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and creative Encore Podcast Advisor to lead and mentor students in the creation of a student-led podcast. The advisor will guide students in developing content, recording, editing, and publishing episodes that reflect Codman’s culture, values, and student voice. This position requires strong organizational skills, experience in media production, and a commitment to fostering student leadership, collaboration, and creativity.
Key ResponsibilitiesPodcast Production & Student DevelopmentGuide students through the process of planning, writing, recording, and editing podcast episodes.
Teach and mentor students in audio storytelling, interviewing, and sound design.
Support students in selecting themes and developing content that represents Codman’s student body and school culture.
Ensure all content meets ethical, editorial, and school standards.
Establish a production calendar with clear deadlines for episode planning, recording, editing, and publishing.
Manage logistics for publishing the podcast (platforms, release schedule, distribution).
Collaborate with school staff to promote the podcast and highlight student work.
Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and administration to ensure wide participation and coverage of school stories.
Provide guidance on podcast recording equipment, microphones, and editing software.
Maintain and manage podcast-related resources, files, and archives.
Ensure students practice responsible and safe use of media tools.
Required
Experience in media production, podcasting, journalism, or communications.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
Ability to manage production timelines and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
Previous experience advising student media or creative projects.
Proficiency with podcast editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition, or similar).
Audio recording, interviewing, and sound editing experience.
