Japanese/English bilingual is a MUST. Job Description Japanese/English bilingual is a MUST. Location: Redondo Beach, CA | Remote, requiring you to commute to the office for a couple times a semester. Position: Associate Producer – Japanese Bilingual Industry: Gaming / Entertainment Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt Salary Range: $58,000 – $74,000/year (DOE) Benefits 100% employer-paid insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD) 401(k) and Roth 401(k) with up to 4% employer match PTO: 10–15 vacation days, 5 personal days, 6 sick days, holidays, winter break (Christmas Eve–New Year’s Day) Bonus based on business performance Summary of the Position The Associate Producer will support live operations and packaged game production. This role serves as a bridge between Japanese development teams and the U.S. production team, ensuring smooth communication, accurate translations, and effective coordination. Responsibilities include monitoring updates, handling approvals, assisting with marketing, and providing feedback on game content. Breakdown of Responsibilities 80% Core Production Duties Act as liaison between Japanese developers/stakeholders and U.S. production team Monitor updates, maintenance, and fan feedback Translate documents (Japanese ⇄ English) Coordinate with PR/Marketing on promotions and events Manage game assets and obtain approvals for usage Track contracts, milestones, and payments with finance/legal teams Mentor junior staff when assigned 10% Community & Event Support Work with Community Manager to support fans (including livestreams) Assist with editing art assets Support live events, tradeshows, and tournaments Serve as interpreter when needed 10% General Team Support Assist with cross-team projects and staff transitions Seek workflow improvements and professional development Provide task/time estimates for project managers Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3–5 years of experience in production, gaming, or related field preferred Business-level fluency in Japanese and English (spoken & written) Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to review and analyze contracts, technical, and financial documents Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Physical & Work Conditions Primarily office-based, with occasional lifting up to 15 lbs May require extended hours or all-nighters during game updates/events Travel to trade shows and live events (e.g., Anime Expo, E3) To apply, please send your resume to asasaki@pasona.com.
