The School of Music seeks a detail-oriented and collaborative
STEPS Temporary
professional to provide administrative services and event support for our students, faculty, alumni, and community partners. This position plays a key role in the daily operations of the School of Music.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Office Support
Provide front-line support in the main office, including answering phones and assisting visitors. Manage mailroom operations, including daily mail pick-up, stocking, and faculty mailbox updates. Create Dean's Excuse letters, process recital payments, and maintain up-to-date faculty contact information. Assist with updates and maintenance of the School of Music website. Facilities & Inventory Management
Oversee locker assignments, methods instrument checkouts, and key inventory. Issue keys to new students and order replacements as needed. Communications & Marketing
Develop engaging social media content for Facebook and Instagram, with a 2025-2026 focus on promoting the 25 Years of Excellence Campaign. Monitor the School of Music email account and ensure timely responses. Maintain and distribute the School's "Concerts and Events" calendar across Outlook and posted displays. Support Friends of Music activities, including newsletters, mailing lists, and RSVPs. Partner with leadership to organize alumni and ensemble participant mailing lists for email outreach. Contribute to the Wildcat Marching Band Oral History Project by supporting documentation and promotional materials. Event Support
Assist with major School of Music events such as the McCracken Awards Ceremony. Coordinate degree recital logistics, including Canvas course management, digital archiving, program ordering, and recital scheduling.
