The Position
We are actively seeking a Managing Editor for ISPOR’s HEOR news magazine.
What You Will Do
As the Managing Editor, you are responsible for writing, soliciting, editing, and posting content for ISPOR’s HEOR news magazine, Value & Outcomes Spotlight, and the HEOR News Brief. You will work with the Director of Publications, the Director of Health Policy, and editors to develop, curate, and publish content that aligns with the Society’s strategic objectives and promotes understanding and application of HEOR to a broader healthcare audience.
ISPOR’s publications include two peer‑reviewed journals (Value in Health and Value in Health Regional Issues), one digital HEOR news magazine (Value & Outcomes Spotlight), and an e‑newsletter (HEOR News Brief). The goal of these publications is to promote the application and understanding of HEOR worldwide.

Value & Outcomes Spotlight
- Develop content that amplifies the impact of HEOR to a broad healthcare audience
- Write feature articles, columns, and news stories that are impactful and accessible
- Solicit, edit, proofread, and post content for publication
- Collaborate with Editors, authors, and ISPOR staff to develop annual content calendars and editorial strategy
HEOR News Desk
- Research, curate, and edit news from global sources to keep readers up to date on HEOR developments
- Create regular email promotions (HEOR News Brief) to drive traffic to the HEOR News Desk microsite
- Identify new ISPOR content to feature in the HEOR News Desk and HEOR News Brief
- Review website and email marketing metrics and make data-driven recommendations
What You Must Have
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in healthcare or life sciences journalism with a proven track record
- Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of AMA style
- Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry trends
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Keen eye for detail and commitment to editorial excellence
Our Location
ISPOR’s headquarters is in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, halfway between Philadelphia and New York City. Our staff works in a hybrid arrangement: on-site two days per week; this position is remote-eligible for the right candidate.

- Competitive pay with a salary range of $65,000–$70,000
