Summary
We are hiring an area lead with strong technical background in Image/Video/3D generation and Multimodal Foundation Models. You will play a critical role in driving the technical directions and building multimodal foundation models for image/video/3D generation, editing, animation and many more. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to drive fundamental capabilities, lead teams to work on ambitious projects and collaborate broadly across Apple with world-class engineers and researchers to advance our products and delight millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Drive roadmaps and propose research plans to advance Image/Video/3D generation models and technologies.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team and drive execution.
- Lead teams to work on ambitious projects and collaborate with broader teams across Apple.
We are a fast-paced group focusing on model, data and applied research on vision and multimodal foundation models. We are looking for technical leads and managers who have:
- Strong technical background and hands-on experience in machine learning, computer vision and foundation models
- 5+ years of experience in managing or leading large teams of ML engineers, successfully driving team’s mission, execution and growth
- 5+ years of experience in driving complex projects and shipping products
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to drive roadmaps, propose your own research plan to advance Image/Video/3D generation models and technologies. You’ll provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team and drive execution. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with broader teams across Apple.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD, MS or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience in building Image/Video/3D generation and multimodal foundation models
- 5+ years of experience in managing or leading 20+ engineer teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent understanding of an ML-based product lifecycle
- Hands-on experience in data mining and data curation
- Proficiency in one of the following languages: Python, Go, Java, C++
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience leading and/or collaborating with a breadth of product areas simultaneously
- Passion for product and user experience
- Hands-on experience delivering large-scale products or platforms, leveraging cross-functional partnerships to drive outcomes across multiple organizations
- Strong experience with systems engineering; in-depth understanding of interdependencies of ML and SW components
- Strong history of delivering innovation
- Ability to develop a long-term vision and execute strategies at scale while maintaining a grasp of technical details for better decision-making
- Experience with VP-level presentations and reporting
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $201,300 and $367,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in discretionary stock programs. You’ll also receive benefits including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses.
