Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based, volunteer-run nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans, and our role in protecting this planet. Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify actions they can take to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean teaches kids they can save the World Ocean for eons.

Position Description
We are seeking a Grant Writing Consultant to join our organization. This role is responsible for assisting our team in increasing grant readiness and competitively applying for and successfully managing grant funding.
Your Impact on our Mission
This position is critical to our mission and the key responsibilities you will perform include, but are not limited to:
- Researching potential grants and funding sources
- Assisting in developing compelling letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports
- Establishing and maintaining an updated annual grants calendar
- Coordinating letters of support and writing proposals
- Working collaboratively with the Executive Director and other volunteer staff to gather information needed for grants and proposals
- Assisting with other fundraising projects as requested
What You’ll Bring To The Team
Along with their passion for our mission, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience writing successful grants and proposals
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Good judgment and ability to work independently
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
- Experience in fundraising is preferred
- Prior experience with a non-profit organization is preferred
- Location within the 48 contiguous United States is highly preferred
Applicants must be able to attend periodic meetings during regular business hours in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone. We are looking for someone who can dedicate a few hours per week and commit for at least 6 months (longer is welcome).
