Education Specialist, Documentation Reports To

Chicago (in office full-time) Overview
This role is an in-office role, so candidates must be located in or near Chicago. As an Education Specialist for our clients\' product documentation, your primary responsibility will be to manage all updates to
end-user
documentation for specific software products. This includes creating release notes that summarize new features being released on a monthly basis. In addition, you will create and maintain all knowledgebase articles for your assigned products. Other responsibilities may include the creation of multimedia content to support the release of new product features. Responsibilities & Duties
Create
How-To
New Knowledgebase Articles: You will review each new software release and determine which new
how-to
articles will need to be created for the new product features included in the release. Maintain Existing
How-To
Knowledgebase Articles: You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining existing
how-to
knowledgebase articles. This will require you to identify what existing
how-to
articles need to be updated as part of new software release. You will be required to follow standard procedures and templates when creating and updating articles within the knowledgebase. Create Release Notes : You will also be expected to create release notes for each software release. These release notes will provide feature descriptions and bug fix information. Create Release Videos : You will be required to create 10-15 minute videos that summarize how to use key features within each new software release. Maintain Standard Operating Procedures : You will be required to update and maintain standard operating procedures for creating documentation including release notes/videos. Qualifications
Excellent communication and organizational skills 2-4 years of software technical writing experience Must have experience using authoring tools such as Document360, MadCap Flare, Paligo, or Confluence Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Preferred Experience
Experience in multimedia content creation products such as Adobe Creative Suite and Camtasia Strong technical and analytics skills Strong understanding of the written English language Seniority level
