Finance Manager - Marketing

Databricks . Databricks is looking for a Finance Manager to join our FP&A team in our mission to help data teams solve the world's toughest problems. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to marketing leadership, providing financial insights, analysis, and guidance to optimize marketing investment decisions and accelerate business growth. You will work independently, have deep experience in system and process improvements to achieve scale, and are comfortable distilling complex data into models and recommendations. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Finance, you will own large-scale data, track critical metrics, build scalable reporting frameworks and dashboards, perform ad hoc performance analysis, and execute core FP&A responsibilities.
The Impact You Will Have
Generate insightful recommendations based on hands-on analytics, financial modeling, and strategic analyses that influence key business decisions and improve reporting of critical metrics
Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate marketing program effectiveness, customer acquisition costs, lifetime value, and marketing funnel metrics
Analyze marketing campaign performance and provide actionable insights to improve efficiency, optimize spend allocation, and drive better returns on marketing investments
Become an expert on the data architecture and use it to report on business performance
Work with strategic partners across finance, accounting, and marketing analytics & operations
Develop and enhance policies and procedures, and implement system improvements to support hyper-growth at scale
Support annual operations planning for marketing spend, collaborating with stakeholders to understand drivers and risks
Partner with Marketing business partners in managing budgets and forecasts, maintaining accuracy to within 2% variance, and analyzing actuals vs plan and forecast
Provide support for headcount management
Perform monthly/quarterly close activities with accounting, including the review of expense accruals
What We Look For
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a comparable quantitative field
5+ years of FP&A, Strategic Finance, or related experience with a focus on technology; familiarity with the software industry, SaaS, or consumption-based models
Experience working with Marketing or go-to-market organizations with an understanding of GTM motions
Strong understanding of marketing metrics including CAC, LTV, attribution models, and digital marketing analytics
Experience with SQL and analytics/reporting tools
Strong data structuring and data flows knowledge across multiple platforms/tools
Financial modeling skills and quantitative analysis experience
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets; comfortable with large datasets and various modeling techniques
Experience with GAAP and non-GAAP metrics
High competency with systems such as Anaplan, Netsuite, Salesforce, Coupa, or Workday
Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation is based on multiple factors including skills, experience, certifications, and location. The total package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits. Zone 1 Pay Range $152,000—$212,750 USD
