Organization : God’s Messenger of Victorious People (GMOVP)
Location : Remote/Hybrid (San Antonio, TX preferred)
Time Commitment : 6-10 hours/week (flexible based on grant cycles)
Reports to : Director of Community Impact & Strategic Initiatives Position Summary
The
Grant Writer Committee Lead
will play a key role in securing funding to support GMOVP’s programs for the unsheltered. This volunteer leader will research grant opportunities, draft compelling proposals, and collaborate with leadership to align funding requests with GMOVP’s mission and strategic goals. This role is essential to expanding GMOVP’s capacity and impact, with opportunities to shape the future of our funding strategy. Key Responsibilities
Grant Research : Identify local, state, federal, and private grant opportunities aligned with GMOVP’s mission
Proposal Writing : Draft and submit persuasive grant applications and supporting documents
Collaboration : Work with leadership and program teams to gather data, stories, and budgets for proposals
Tracking & Reporting : Maintain a grant calendar and track submission deadlines, outcomes, and reporting requirements
Strategy Development : Help build a long-term grant strategy to support organizational growth
Team Leadership : Recruit and guide volunteers to assist with research, editing, and documentation
Qualifications
Strong writing and editing skills
Experience in grant writing or nonprofit development (preferred but not required)
Ability to synthesize program goals into compelling narratives
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Passion for GMOVP’s mission and a heart for serving the unsheltered
