The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a crucial role in researching and drafting grant proposals to secure funding for the organization’s programs and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and a passion for nonprofit work. As the organization grows, there is potential for this volunteer role to transition into a paid position. Key Responsibilities

Grant Research:

Identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Proposal Writing:

Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with each grantor's guidelines and funding priorities. Collaboration:

Work closely with program managers, finance, and leadership teams to gather relevant information for proposals. Reporting:

Assist in preparing grant reports to funders, detailing program outcomes and financial usage as required. Grant Calendar Management:

Track and manage the grant application and reporting calendar to ensure deadlines are met. Qualifications

Required: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail. Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Strong research skills to identify potential funding opportunities. Familiarity with or willingness to learn about the grant application process and funding cycles. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred: Previous experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development. Familiarity with fundraising databases or software. Knowledge of our core focus areas, such as [e.g., community development, cultural advocacy, etc.].
