The Opportunity
We’re looking for a versatile and strategic
Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. This high-impact role is responsible for bringing organizational priorities to life through compelling, audience-centered communications. You’ll work across departments and directly with our executive leadership to create and deliver consistent, high-quality messaging across channels—from press releases and executive speeches to internal updates and event communications.
This is an ideal opportunity for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to translate leadership vision into action, and brings both strategic insight and polished execution to everything they do.
What You’ll Do
Cultivate strong relationships with media outlets and journalists. Develop press materials, manage media inquiries, and secure coverage that amplifies our voice and reputation.
Draft speeches, presentations, memos, and announcements for C-suite leaders and the Board of Directors. Ensure message alignment across platforms and audiences.
Provide comprehensive communications support for the Global Security Exchange (GSX) event, including pre-event promotional messaging, media coordination, speaker promotion, and post-event follow-up.
Partner with regional board leaders and volunteers to ensure messaging is consistent, timely, and relevant to local and global stakeholders.
Design and execute communication strategies that keep volunteers, organizational stakeholders, and staff informed and engaged.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a communications or public affairs role
Outstanding writing and editing skills—able to tailor tone and message to diverse audiences and formats
Demonstrated ability to craft strategic, high-impact content for executive, media, and member audiences
Prior experience managing media relations, press outreach, and executive communications
Experience supporting events or conferences through content and media planning
Previous involvement in crisis communications or reputation management is a plus
High attention to detail, excellent project management skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities
Strong collaborator with a proactive, agile mindset and sound judgment under pressure
Experience working in an association, nonprofit, public sector, or agency environment is a plus
