Overview Join our Research and Development Salty Snacks team as a Senior Food Designer. We want your expertise to manage and lead a complex snacks portfolio. This role generates innovation projects (i.e., new products) and supports flavor strategy across all of Salty. Lead programs to enable the future growth of our brands. This hybrid role can be based out of Battle Creek, MI or Chicago, IL. Estimated travel is 25-35% (will be closer to 35% for individuals in the Chicago area). You will be accountable for innovation across our iconic Salty brands including Cheez-It, Pringles and Club. Half of your time will be spent on driving growth through innovation pipeline creation and commercialization. The other 50% will be focused on aligning flavor strategy including annual flavor trends analysis and activation. What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership – Think strategically and demonstrate capabilities as a Project Manager, Planner, Coordinator, Communicator, and Technical Expert. Influence cross-functional teams on the strategic outlook to deliver the growth goals. What’s Trending? – Identify and unlock new flavors through partnerships with the Kellanova Culinary team and external networks; explore new technologies in food/process R&D; champion a consumer-centric and experimental culture. Technical Expertise – Lead within the department and globally as an expert in the flavor camp discipline; stay current with developments, trends, and technology through investigation, training, and cross-functional communication. Collaboration – Build strategic partnerships with key flavors and seasoning suppliers; engage with cross-functional partners as a technical resource, providing high-impact support to project teams. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in food science, engineering, or related field. Deep technical competency in a food discipline with significant experience in product development; desirable experience in snacks and/or crackers technologies. Ability to work under ambiguity with minimal direction and provide technical leadership that drives growth. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to influence through collaboration. Proven leadership, business acumen, communication, and diplomacy. Track record of managing multiple projects; embraces and leads change. Strong consumer and customer understanding to tailor product innovation strategy. Compensation The annual salary range is $126,800 - $166,500, based on location, experience, and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are available.
