McCarthy is looking for a hands-on, collaborative, and passionate Marketing Coordinator to assist our Northern Pacific Region with a variety of marketing activities. Responsibilities will include development of qualification, proposal and presentation materials; technical writing; graphic design; event planning; and database management. This position will work closely with the regional Marketing and Business Development team to support the development of client relationships and competitive procurement of major construction projects. The Marketing Coordinator can be based in the San Francisco or Santa Clara office. Responsibilities Internal Communications Storyboards, drives content development, and designs our monthly internal newsletter, The Blueprint, to ensure employees are informed and engaged. Develops and maintains internal communication channels, such as intranet content, employee resource platforms, and digital signage. Assists with the creation of internal communication templates in internal communications applications. Partners with HR and other departments to promote organizational initiatives, culture campaigns, and major milestones. Supports the creation and delivery of presentations, town hall materials, and leadership updates. Supports our Site Specific Marketing Plans (SSMP) process by interviewing project teams and capturing project approach, differentiators, and thought leadership. Gathers employee feedback to improve internal messaging effectiveness. External Communications Assists in writing and editing press releases, news articles, and media advisories to promote the companys brand, projects, or achievements. Assists with creating social media graphics, post captions and scheduling via social media scheduling platforms (e.g. Hootsuite). Maintains consistent messaging and brand compliance across digital and print content, including website copy, social media posts, brochures, and case studies. Supports the execution of public relations efforts by coordinating media lists, tracking coverage, and preparing briefing documents for interviews or public appearances. Partners with marketing managers to align external communications with campaign objectives. Monitors and reports on the performance of external communications efforts (engagement, impressions, media hits). Event Support Helps organize company events, such as town halls, client appreciation receptions, employee recognition events, and industry conferences. Coordinates event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio/visual needs, and event materials. Manages event communications: invites, RSVPs, event materials (agendas, badges, signage), and post-event follow-ups. Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive event messaging and brand alignment. Facilitates onsite or virtual event execution, providing hands-on support before, during, and after the event. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, English, Graphic Design, or a related field required 3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the construction industry Previous experience preparing technical documents, including development of graphics to support messaging Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software, especially InDesign, and related programs like Canva Desktop proficiency in all Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint Familiarity with CRM database management a plus Must be able to submit a copy of your graphic design portfolio for review Strengths and Talents Positive attitude, team player with strong work ethic Ability to work under pressure, excelling at meeting tight deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills Ability to prioritize and manage workload; juggle multiple projects Exceptional written and verbal skills Graphics capabilities with a good eye for design Flexible and able to learn quickly, particularly new technology Provide different, creative solutions to help sell McCarthys services McCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status. For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $60,000-75,000. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation.
