Quality Technician I – Mechanical & Visual InspectionBond Optics has been on the front edge of the optics industry for over 50 years, manufacturing precision optical components for the Aerospace, Defense, Research, Semiconductor, Biomedical and Laser industries. We are proud that many of our custom components are integral to some of the most cutting-edge technology in the world today, from large-scale laser systems investigating nuclear fusion to complex space-based systems studying the origins of the universe.Job Summary:The Quality Technician I will be responsible for both mechanical and visual inspections of manufactured components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. This role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, meticulous, and motivated to contribute to the production of mission-critical optics.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Responsibilities:
Previous experience in quality inspection (mechanical or visual) preferred.Physical Requirements:
- Perform mechanical inspections of manufactured components and assemblies using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Conduct visual inspections of manufactured components and finished products using microscopes and other visual tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Identify, document, and classify dimensional deviations and visual defects accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and non-conformance documentation.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures and processes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and practices while performing inspection duties.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent visual acuity and fine motor skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience maintaining inspection documentation.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and practices preferred.
Previous experience in quality inspection (mechanical or visual) preferred.Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Adequate or corrected vision required to inspect optical components using microscopes and inspection tools.
- Strong fine motor skills to perform intricate inspection tasks.
