Job Description
Position: Content Creator & Editor
Reports To: Digital Brand Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Content Creator & Editor for First Tactical is responsible for driving the production and post-production of all photo and video content that supports First Tactical’ s ecommerce, marketing, sales, and social initiatives. This role operates strictly behind the camera and is charged with executing high-quality visual content across studio, field, and digital environments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creative Production (Photo & Video)
· Execute studio product photography (flat lay, on-body, close-up, masked white-background images)
· Coordinate and shoot lifestyle / field photography for campaign and evergreen brand use
· Capture video content for:
o Product walkthroughs and features
o On-body fit videos
o Social short-form content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts)
o Internal product training and retail setup guides
· Produce and shoot content for retail and tradeshow environments as requested by the sales team
· Create and maintain evergreen brand footage for future re-use
Editing & Post-Production
· Edit and retouch all images using Lightroom and Photoshop
· Perform video editing using Premiere Pro (and After Effects, if applicable)
· Color correct, clip, mask, and prepare layered assets for use by designers and ecommerce team
· Create GIFs, motion snippets, and light animations as needed
· Manage version control and ensure assets are consistently organized
Asset Management
· Upload, tag, and categorize assets into Media Valet (DAM)
· Build and maintain a stock library of reusable content (photo and video)
· Ensure transparency/masked images are properly clipped and exported for use in web and print
· Work cross-functionally to make sure all relevant teams can locate, and access approved creative
Collaboration & Planning
· Coordinate with marketing on campaign timelines and creative requirements
· Support social media with platform-optimized organic content
· Work with ecommerce to produce required PDP content (still and video)
· Respond to ad hoc photo/video requests from sales for in-store, POS, or tradeshow initiatives
· Manage studio calendar and plan field shoot logistics (location, equipment, personnel, etc.)
· Maintain and track photography/videography equipment and studio supplies
· Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
· 3+ years in a creative production role (agency, brand, or freelance)
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly:
o Lightroom (batch processing, color correction, preset usage)
o Photoshop (clipping, retouching, masking, composite creation)
o Premiere Pro (timeline editing, transitions, audio leveling)
· Knowledge of camera operation (DSLR/Mirrorless), lighting setups, and audio capture
· Highly organized, comfortable managing large volumes of content across multiple projects
· Strong communicator: able to interpret creative direction and translate into deliverables
· Working understanding of file formats, compression standards, and web/digital output settings
· Comfortable working in both studio and field environments
· Tactical, outdoor, or apparel experience a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK CONDITIONS:
This role requires prolonged periods of computer work (sitting, typing, and detailed visual focus) as well as hands-on activity during photo and video shoots. The Content Creator must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods, lift and set up equipment up to 40 lbs, and operate cameras, lighting, and related tools with manual dexterity. Regular communication with colleagues is required, along with occasional travel to field locations, tradeshows, or retail environments that may involve varying weather conditions.
Work Conditions
Work is performed in both indoor studio and office settings as well as outdoor field environments. Conditions may vary based on location, including exposure to weather, lighting setups, and event or tradeshow environments. Some evening or weekend work and occasional travel may be required to meet project deadlines.
