Position Salary Range:
$44,000.00-$48,000.00 per year; depending on experience
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and two (2) years of related experience: OR, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Demonstrated experience in writing and editing online content.
The Digital Communications Specialist supports the Center by generating, curating and preparing content for social media, website, print and online materials. The position reports to the Center Director. The position entails reviewing, curating and updating of content to maintain and advance the online access, presence and impact of the Center and its programming. Responsibilities also may include support of the Center's assessment of its social media and website analytics.
Essential Duties:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
Department Statement:
This position is housed in the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy that is part of the Office of the University Provost. The position reports to the Director of the Center. Position supervises student staff as directed. Position is a full-time, benefits-eligible position and may require travel to other ASU campuses and off-campus program sites for events and programs that may be scheduled at times different from normally scheduled work hours.

- Maintains the social media and website content for the Center.
- Assists with research and use of ASU brand guidelines.
- Monitors and contributes to the analysis of social media and Web analytics, and helps generate performance and engagement statistics reports.
- Engages with digital communications peers across ASU academic and business units to source content.
- Contributes to the development and execution of social media advertising strategies.
- Supports CSRD staff responsible for programs and events, campus and community engagement and supports CSRD student, faculty and community-based fellows.
- Knowledge of digital communication practices, software and tools.
- Knowledge of internet-based social networking formats, audiences, and usage standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of interactive media, tools, and technologies.
- Demonstrated skill in writing and editing for interactive media, web and print materials.
- Skill in use of web tools and assessment of outcomes.
- Skill in problem-solving and decision-making.
