Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are safe, reliable, maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.
As the LTAMDS Technical Manual Writer, you'll support the development of all aspects of the LTAMDS TMs. In this role, you'll be part of a team of writers and illustrators in the development of operational and maintenance manuals for the LTAMDS program. This location is based onsite at Tewksbury, MA and Huntsville, AL.
What you will do:
- Assess engineering data for impacts to existing technical content.
- Develop of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and Technical Manuals, including material addressing:
- System functional theory
- Operations
- Preventive and corrective maintenance, schematics and illustrated parts breakdowns from compiled engineering technical reports, drawings, and parts lists
- DAMWO
- Participate / support all Safety and Engineering Peer Reviews of TMs.
- Participate / support all Validation requirements and events.
- Participate in quality reviews of materials.
This role will require travel (up to 20%).
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Experience with written technical or non-technical documentation in a military or civilian environment. (Operational Manuals, maintenance etc.)
Qualifications we prefer:
- Experience with the Eagle Publishing System, MIL Standard 40051 or S1000D
- Experience supporting projects in an Agile environment.
- Ability to work independently and analyze technical documentation.
- Ability to follow established guidelines and standards.
- Technical aptitude and self-driven.
- Knowledgeable with ICC and Fire Unit Operations.
- Patriot Master Gunner or Top Gun graduate.
- Knowledgeable with radar theory and radar propagation.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Clearance Information: This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
The salary range for this role is $66,000 - $130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
