Overview

Seeking a skilled and motivated IP Network Engineer Level II or III to join our remote engineering team. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in IP networking in service provider, telecommunications, or data center environments. The successful candidate must be able to work during Alaska Standard Time (AKST) business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and support routing and switching platforms in a large-scale IP network environment.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize network availability and performance.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of IP networking solutions for service delivery.
  • Document network architecture, configurations, and procedures using tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support network expansions, upgrades, and customer implementations.
  • Respond to escalated operational issues and participate in on-call rotation if required.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of network engineering best practices, tools, and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in IP networking roles, ideally within service provider, telecommunications, or data center environments.
  • Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Nokia routing and switching platforms.
  • Strong understanding of IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, and other core network technologies.
  • Experience with network documentation tools; Visio proficiency required.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
  • Must be able to work during Alaska Standard Time hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Juniper network devices and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Exposure to timing technologies such as PTP/NTP.
  • Familiarity with Metasolv (inventory and provisioning systems).
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS, or Nokia NRS are a plus.
