Our client, a major contributor in global filtration solutions and a Fortune 500 Company, is seeking a CAD designer to join their team! This position creates product designs from rough technical sketches and digitizes with CAD and other software (advanced skills required). This role will work closely with engineers and technicians to fulfill necessary objectives, evaluate design alternatives, and provide consultation cross-departmentally to ensure production capabilities and favorable costs are aligned. This will be a 3-6 month contract working through several different projects.
Job Duties
•Provides hardware and systems designs within product design guidelines, maintaining high levels of standardization at minimal costs.
•Communicates product designs through drawings, specifications and other related documents. Provides leadership and manages projects to meet objectives.
•Converts engineers' and technicians' rough product design sketches into working documents by digitizing with computer aided design (CAD) to enable a CAD operator to complete related computer entry.
•Initiates and develops design drawings to fulfill technical objectives consistent with established guidelines, customer requirements and design specifications.
•Recommends alternative product and system designs as required. Initiates Engineering Change Orders per Procedures. Evaluates design alternatives as applied to product systems, products or parts development and recommends design changes which meet production capabilities at favorable costs.
•Prepares or assists in preparation of product instruction manuals and engineering standards as required. May assist with prototype modification and testing of samples. May include industry-specific language.
Requirements
•2+ years of experience
•Active use of Siemens NX software and Teamcenter
•Associates degree or equivalent technical experience.
•High attention to detail.
•ITAR Complaint
•Familiarity with larger assembly models, parametric modeling, and fully constraining components
•Ability to detail/draw/dimension component parts
•Familiarity with welding and applying weld symbols
•Knowledge of sheet metal and weldments
•Familiarity with GD&T and dimensioning to correct reference.
Benefits:Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines.
