Overview

Medical and Scientific Accuracy Review Editor position at MJH Life Sciences involves producing accurate, high-quality medical and scientific content for clinical promotional education deliverables across print, online, and events. This is an individual contributor role within the Clinical Communications Department, focused on ensuring accuracy, quality, and relevance of content for target audiences of healthcare professionals and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Review promotional and medical affairs writing deliverables, including manuscripts, slide decks, and video scripts or storyboards.
  • Perform quality checks and reviews at all stages of content development to ensure scientific accuracy, consistency with source/reference documents, adherence to MLR/MAR standards, compliance with copyright laws and permissions, and alignment with AMA and in-house editorial styles.
  • Resolve fact-check queries and address MLR/MAR feedback by reviewing supporting references, clarifying discrepancies, and ensuring content accuracy, compliance, and alignment with verified data.
  • Determine and recommend restructuring, condensation, deletion, rewriting to clarify passages, refine research methods, and select appropriate information to present.

Qualifications

  • A clinical degree (PharmD) or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in a healthcare-related field (life sciences, biomedical sciences). Board Certified Editor in the Life Sciences (ELS) strongly preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in medical communications or pharmaceutical industry (medical writing experience preferred).
  • Exceptional English language skills with strong attention to detail, including editing complex materials for accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with AMA Manual of Style (knowledge of APA, ACS styles also preferred).
  • Ability to interpret, organize, and summarize complex clinical data and solid understanding of the clinical development process.
  • Proficiency in clinical trial statistics.
  • Ability to acquire and apply specialized therapy area knowledge rapidly.
  • Ability to perform PubMed, MEDLINE, and EMBASE literature searches.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Expert MS Office skills with focus on word processing, tables, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, and templates. Adobe Acrobat and InCopy knowledge helpful.
  • Demonstrated project management, advanced problem-solving, and strong written and oral communication skills.

Compensation

Compensation Range
$75,000 – $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
