About the Role
We’re looking for a thoughtful and collaborative UI/UX Designer to join our growing team and help craft intuitive, inclusive, and visually engaging digital experiences for healthcare organizations. This role is ideal for early- to mid-career designers who are comfortable working across the full design process—from user research to wireframes to polished prototypes—and who thrive in cross-functional environments. You’ll report to a Design and Development Manager and collaborate closely with developers, content strategists, and our product/project management team. You’ll create user-centered interfaces that balance accessibility, brand alignment, and functionality, while contributing to an evolving design system and helping shape digital products with real-world impact.
What You’ll Do
- Center experiences across multiple platforms, balancing usability and visual design
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate solutions
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that communicate design intent
- Collaborate with developers to ensure thoughtful, feasible, and accessible implementation
- Apply and contribute to design systems while maintaining consistency and scalability across products
- Identify opportunities for product and workflow improvements through user insights, analytics, and stakeholder input
- Present design concepts clearly, articulating rationale and incorporating feedback from internal teams and client stakeholders
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies to align on design reviews
- Stay current with emerging UX trends, tools, accessibility standards, and methodologies
- Apply design thinking to solve complex user and business challenges, especially within regulated domains like healthcare
What You’ll Bring
- 2–5 years of UX design experience in product-focused or web-based environments (agency or in-house)
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving, process thinking, and responsive interface design
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing, applying findings to improve the user experience
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design approaches
- Experience working within CMS-driven platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal); Gutenberg familiarity is a plus
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) beneficial but not required
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or other regulated industries is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines
What We’ll Provide
DaVita Rewards package with benefits starting on the first day of the month following or coinciding with one month of continuous employment. Benefits include:
- Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off
- Family resources, EAP counseling, Headspace, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave
