User Experience (UX) Design & Research
- Collaborate with the software and marketing teams to design, redesign and enhance web-based product interfaces and information management tools.
- Reimagine and optimize user experiences, adjusting overall designs to be mobile-first and responsive, and improving key product sections to be user-friendly and visually consistent.
- Conduct comprehensive user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and expectations, including usability testing to identify friction points.
- Chart end-to-end service flows and define underlying information architecture to ensure all key elements and user interactions are accounted for, identifying core screens, decision points, and content needs.
- Conduct concept testing to gather user feedback prior to development work, evaluating design intuitiveness and user needs, and iterating on designs to address any issues or gaps.
- Build on research and ideation to create high-fidelity designs that bring updated experiences to life, including interactive prototypes for demo to engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for various platforms (mobile, desktop, and edge devices).
- Create visually appealing and consistent user interfaces that align with our brand guidelines.
- Design with accessibility in mind, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g., WCAG, ADA).
- Develop and maintain design systems, including style guides, component libraries, and pattern libraries.
- Collaborate with software developers, engineers, marketing team members, and other stakeholders to understand user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints.
- Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, effectively communicating design rationale and user needs.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and user testing to iterate on designs and improve user experience.
- Prepare detailed design specifications, including wireframes, mockups, style guides, and assets, for handoff to the development team.
- Collaborate closely with software developers during the implementation phase to ensure design integrity and quality.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful design projects across multiple platforms.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and regulations (e.g., WCAG, ADA).
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
- Experience designing for edge devices or embedded systems.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
