Overview
The UI/UX Designer shall design the user interface (UI) and follow a lean user experience (UX) process and experience to support the Architecture and effective daily execution and performance of common shared services within a culture of continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- a. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define user interface requirements and design innovative and execeptional user experiences.
- b. Develop and implement strategic vision for user interface designs, wireframes, prototypes, and specifications.
- c. Ensure architecture, services and design concepts are aligned with user needs and mission outcomes.
- d. Conduct user research, usability testing, and other user-centered design activities.
- e. Create and maintain UI/UX design guidelines, templates, and style guides.
- f. Work with customer and prime vendor teams to ensure design concepts are implemented accurately and efficiently.
- g. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to the UI/UX process.
- h. Understand and incorporate program office, application owners, and other end customers requirements, needs and missions as part of the UI/UX methodology and accomplishment.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in information design or a related field. Strongly desired: Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in UI/UX design, product design and/or enterprise application fields or relevant customer-facing job roles.
- 4+ years of UI/UX experience associated with cloud-based projects.
- 4+ years of experience working in a DoD or other Federal Government environments.
- Proven experience in user research, usability testing, and design thinking.
- Strong visual design skills with a focus on clean, modern design.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, collaboration and teaming skills and experience.
- Ability to handle multiple customers and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Expertise in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship and must possess a minimum of an active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Key personnel shall remain assigned to the program for the duration of the contract (Base Year plus 4 one-year options plus potential 6-month extension) unless approved by the Contracting Officer.
- Contingency: This position is contingent upon contract award (March-August 2025 timeframe).
Qualifications
- Recent and Extensive Air Force background and experience.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- PMP or similar certificate.
- Familiarity and experience with Air Force Cloud One program and program management office.
- Familiarity and experience with Department of Air Force (USAF and USSF) application owners and customers.
- Experience with several of the four cloud service providers (AWS, MS Azure, Oracle, Google).
- Experience with contractor manpower reporting and work breakdown structures.
- Experience with contract budgeting and funds status reporting.
- Experience with DoD and AF cybersecurity requirements.
- Knowledge of DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA).
- Knowledge of DoD Cloud Computing SRG v1 R 4 (or superseding versions or releases).
- Experience as member of large teams with multiple major subcontractors.
- Experience with DoD and AF customer communication, program management reviews, leading meetings and presentations.
- Familiarity with AF risk management, configuration management, and data management.
