Newscast Producer/ Media Producer (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth)

AM PRODUCER

WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic NEWS PRODUCER who wants to tell compelling stories, dominate breaking news and severe weather coverage, and promote the values of journalism on air, online and on social media and streaming services.

Responsibilities

• Produce newscasts with creativity and flair; write clear, concise copy on deadline; work under pressure; showcase strong video and emotional sound, and easy-to-understand graphics.
• Contribute to the station\'s online and streaming presence by posting stories and other content on WAVY.com and possibly being involved in streaming content.
• Collaborate with an award-winning team and exercise strong news judgment; maintain high journalistic standards across platforms.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years mainline news producing experience preferred.
• Must be willing and able to work overnights, nights and weekends; shifts may include holidays.
