xTool Retail Studio
Overview
About xTool: xTool is a leading innovator in the laser engraving and cutting industry. We don't just sell machines; we empower creators, makers, and businesses to turn their ideas into reality. Our growth is fueled by immersive, hands-on experiences that showcase the magic of our technology. We're looking for an event expert to build and execute the experiences that form the heart of our brand in the Americas. Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on, and results-driven Event Marketing Specialist to own the strategy, planning, and execution of our event portfolio in the US market. You will be responsible for creating unforgettable experiences at trade shows, retail partner events, user meetups, and our own Demo Room activations. Your success will be measured by your ability to generate high-quality leads, strengthen brand affinity, and create a rich pipeline of content and stories from the field. Responsibilities
1. Event Strategy & Planning Develop and own the US event marketing strategy and calendar, aligning with product launch roadmaps, marketing campaigns, and business objectives (e.g., lead gen, brand awareness, partner enablement). Conduct post-event analysis and ROI reporting on key metrics (lead volume, cost per lead, influenced pipeline, media value) to continuously optimize our event strategy. Manage the event budget, ensuring efficient spend and maximum impact across all activities. 2. End-to-End Event Execution Lead all logistical planning for events: venue selection, contract negotiation, booth design & fabrication, shipping, AV, staffing, and on-site coordination. Serve as the on-site captain for all major events, managing the xTool team, volunteers, and vendors to ensure flawless execution. Create and maintain detailed project plans and run-of-show documents to keep all stakeholders aligned. 3. Experience & Activation Design Move beyond traditional booths by designing highly interactive, hands-on activations that deeply engage attendees (e.g., live project challenges, personalized engraving stations, tech demos). Develop compelling pre- and post-event communications to drive attendance and nurture leads. Collaborate with the Content Specialist to identify and capture compelling stories, testimonials, and UGC opportunities at every event. 4. Stakeholder & Partner Management Partner with our sales and business development teams to ensure events are effectively generating and handing off qualified leads. Manage relationships with key event partners, including retailers (e.g., Micro Center), makerspaces, and industry associations. Coordinate with the global marketing team to align US event strategy with worldwide initiatives. Qualifications & Skills
Must-Haves: 4+ years of experience in B2C or B2B event marketing, preferably in tech, consumer goods, or the maker industry. Proven track record of end-to-end management of events (from 50-person meetups to 10,000+ attendee trade shows). Exceptional project management and logistical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving on the fly. Strong budget management skills and experience negotiating with vendors. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to energize and manage a cross-functional team on-site. Nice-to-Haves: Experience in a startup or high-growth environment where agility and resourcefulness are key. A personal interest in or passion for maker culture, DIY, design, or technology. Basic knowledge of laser cutting/engraving or CNC technology. Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for lead management.
