As a Principal Technical Marketing Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a key role in providing detailed technical information to our partners, customers, and our employees.
In this role, you will work with cutting edge technology, redefining the future of Cloud network security.
The individual will be responsible for products that protect data, workloads, and infrastructure for some of the largest enterprise customers in the world. Help the customers journey to the Hybrid cloud by ensuring they have the best in class protection. Develop and execute the Palo Alto Networks plan for Software Firewalls, including outbound technical communication, product best practices, competitive reviews, POC demo environments, and automation, while working closely with internal stakeholders. Review PRDs and engineering specs and provide feedback. Document technical concepts to ensure our products are well understood and utilized to the greatest extent possible.
You are a self-starter, keen to learn and experiment with new technologies. You work well independently and excel at identifying the potential sales needs of our clients and shaping the direction of the company’s products. You aren’t afraid of ambiguity - instead, you like the challenge of defining new products as they come to market.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with NGFW, Cloud-Delivered Shared Services, Strata Cloud Manager, and AI Security teams on platformization
Own the technical marketing plan from start to finish, creating tools, demos, videos, and whitepapers that position us as a market leader
Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality, impactful products
Evangelize Cloud Network Security and generative AI, establishing Palo Alto Networks as a leader through messaging and demonstrations
Design and deliver technical tools, whitepapers, demos, videos, and training for sales teams, customers, and partners
Lead automation initiatives across cross-functional teams to ensure technical excellence and seamless product releases
Act as a key technical evangelist, speaking at industry conferences, customer briefings, and internal seminars
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Technical Marketing Engineer or DevOps/Solutions Architect, ideally in the networking or Cloud security space
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; master’s degree is a plus or equivalent military experience
Deep expertise in a major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and public cloud security principles
Familiarity with SaaS products, managing SLAs and working in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of microsegmentation technologies along with KVM, VMware, and other virtualization and container security
Knowledge of AI, including deep learning and generative/agentic AI and their security implications
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Terraform (CFT) is highly desired
Knowledge in building and maintaining POC and Demo environments
Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills
Additional Information
Compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For offers at the posted level, starting base salary is between $159,000/YR and $255,000/YR, with potential stock units and a bonus.
